Aspiration - Hope or Ambition

A word bandied by politicians these days to try and protect themselves from caring enough to do anything about anything. They want you to aspire for things, to want to work hard to gain the things that they just had given to them, most of them are already very wealthy, some may say I had to work hard for what I have, but we all know their interpretation of working hard is a lot different to the normal ordinary workers idea of working hard.

They want you to aspire to things that are an impossible dream, what they really want more than anything is you to just work hard, that is all work hard and do as you are told. Their wealth and privilege depends on willing slaves working hard to increase their wealth and privilege. They throw the odd bone here and there to placate the dream, a lottery win etc, but its always been about protection of their own wealth and well being, nothing more, they have never cared about us, they just care about themselves. All of them, every party, every political pundit, journalist every one of them, protecting their little club from the dirty masses.

Have had to modify ink cartridges for ages now so that I could continue to use my ink pen, but found someone on Amazon selling the correct ones for my pen. I hate using biro’s, much prefer proper ink pens, been using fountain pens since I was in Junior school. I went to one of those schools that transitioned the kids from pencils to fountain pens, and I know we now live in the digital age, but I still like putting pen to paper, in journals, notes and stuff. Old fashioned I know, but its a habit I have not broken out of, but a lovely bit of retro to keep me feeling nerdy.

As the title says, facebook likes sometimes make me uncomfortable. Why? Well it forces me to like someones bad life events as well as their good life events. I get the whole idea that a like shows support for the friend/relative but it still makes me feel weird. I’ve come to the conclusion its just the word “like”, if it was “agree” maybe it would be better, or maybe even “sympathise”, but “like” suggest that you are getting a kick out of the fact someone lost their dad, or mom etc. Maybe I think about it too much, but thinking is important to human growth I feel. We think therefore we are human, without it we are hopeless automotive robotic slaves.

Something in my development life over the last 5 years have got easier, but one thing that hasn’t is keeping things going. Updates, upgrades etc, take time swapping from one site to the next. The whole reason for me unifying everything into less places is to give me more time and less to do.

The zeroshadow.com site is going to be a single login site for all my games, no more seperate domains names, just one zeroshadow.com address and all the games will be available there. I also intend that one place to have my gameplay video’s too, no more youtube, just my own captive audience of gamers playing my games, talking about games, and talking about the things we like to do.

Finally it will become the original idea I had many moons ago of a place for PBBG players to hang out and play games together. I hope to develop some new ones soon, to keep everyone happy and build zeroshadow.com into something great.

What are these connectors called? I want to get some little wire cables for connecting my Raspberry Pi to things I want to program and I don’t know what they are called to look them up. Would be useful to know. Post your ideas in the comments please. Thanks.

Only on Chapter 3 of Mordant’s need and already feeling Stephen Donaldson sucking me into his book, have 13 books in my collection to read over the coming year, looking forward to it to be honest, not been reading too much fiction for the last 5 years or more, time to get back into it.

Lets see if you can work out what day it is today… Yup! That’s right its brewing day! Although I don’t have anything to drink while making it, unless I crack open the last bottle of Red wine I made before Christmas. Mmm! Let me think.

I plan to have a Stephen Donaldson read through this year. I’ve read the Thomas Covenant books, but this year the 4th book in the latest saga is released, so it will be a good time to start over again. First though I decided to read the Mordant’s need series first, which I’ve had for years but never got around to reading, mainly because I was quite angry with SD for what he did to TC in the last book of the second trilogy, spoilers not included. Anyway though going to read them this time around. Then will read TC trilogy 1 and 2 and then the saga should be mine to read.

Just finished up the 5 books in the Hitch Hikers trilogy, Douglas Adams, I so wish he was still around showing us how silly we all are.

I don’t think anyone who starts out writing a blog ever expects to have anyone else write it for them, specially if the blog is as random and hit and miss as this one, but sometimes it would be nice to have someone else do it for a change. Well the new Royal Charter for press legislation, introduced after Levison seems to make it clear that a sole blogger must remain a sole blogger or else your a newspaper. Would make sense if it wasn’t so farcical.

What that also means is, that if you have a facebook group or fan page you also are liable if you are not a sole admin. So if you have a group beware as you are now a target for the UK courts. A mad state of affairs all around.
